Settling Down
Embarking on the journey of a Viking raider in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla isn’t just about conquest and exploration; it’s also about establishing a place to call home. In Settling Down, which is part of the story in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, players will lay the foundations for their new settlement, Ravensthorpe. Through this step-by-step guide, we’ll ensure you know the ins and outs of finding allies, conducting your first raid, building a vital structure for your community, and claiming a space for yourself within your growing village.
Step 1: Locate Gunnar
- Upon starting the Settling Down quest, exit the Ravensthorpe longhouse and make your way to the teal objective marker approximately 120 meters away.
- There you’ll find Gunnar, the blacksmith, who will provide you with a map directing you towards a nearby monastery – your target for a classic Viking raid.
Step 2: Conduct a Raid
- Raids are crucial for gathering the resources needed to develop Ravensthorpe.
- Approach the monastery and initiate the raid by pressing the appropriate button (Triangle on PlayStation or Y on Xbox).
- Your crew will storm the location, and you must decide whether to join the fray or concentrate on scavenging resources.
- For this task, locate one of two wealth chests within the monastery buildings – you can access these either by smashing open the door on the left or by breaking the locked door on the right.
Step 3: Collect Resources
- Within each building, you’ll find a large golden chest filled with supplies and raw materials.
- Interact with a chest to gather what you need for Ravensthorpe’s development.
- Once you have acquired the necessary resources, assist your crew in eliminating any remaining foes, then make your return to your settlement.
Step 4: Build the Blacksmith
- Back in Ravensthorpe, proceed to the teal objective marker to construct a Blacksmith shop.
- This provides Gunnar with a forge and ensures you have access to his blacksmithing services, which are essential for maintaining and upgrading your equipment.
Step 5: Claim Your Room
- Post-construction, you’ll have a conversation with Sigurd.
- He’ll inform you that a room in the longhouse has been designated as yours.
- Take a moment to examine your new quarters, which include a letterbox and a bed.
Step 6: Visit Rowan’s Stable
- Finally, step outside to meet Sigurd at Rowan’s stable, indicated by another teal objective marker.
- This marks the completion of the Settling Down quest.
- With the foundations of your settlement firmly established, you’re ready to continue shaping the future of Ravensthorpe and your Viking saga.
Moving forward, your adventures will be guided by The Alliance Map, furthering the narrative and your influence throughout Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
