New Dawn Fades

This guide is part of IGN’s Cyberpunk 2077 Wiki and provides a walkthrough for the New Dawn Fades epilogue, which is a part of Panam’s and Rogue’s final ending choices. In this epilogue, Johnny returns to Night City in V’s body. It is a story-driven mission where V will respond to questions and perform simple interactions.

Step 1: Awakening in the Unknown Room

• Upon waking up in an unfamiliar room, you will discover that Johnny has started a new life for himself in an Abandoned Apartment block in Pacifica, away from V’s friends and family. Take note of a confirmation message about a ready-to-collect order. Johnny needs to start packing before leaving Night City.

Step 2: Exploring the Apartment

• Before you start packing, take the opportunity to explore the apartment. You will find several Shards, a replica of Johnny’s Samurai jacket, and other random items such as cards.

Step 3: Collecting Items

• Collect Rogue’s gun, your bus ticket, and your duffle bag. Exit the room and call Steve through the intercom at the end of the hallway to arrange a ride.

Step 4: Dealing with Steve’s Father

• While waiting for Steve outside the apartment block, you will encounter his abusive father. Stick up for Steve and handle the situation.

Step 5: Heading to the Music Shop

• With Steve’s father dealt with, it’s time to head to the Time Machine music shop. During the drive, Johnny and Steve will discuss music and life. You have the option to skip ahead if desired.

Step 6: Selecting a Guitar

• Upon arriving at the music shop, enter with Steve and speak to the store owner. Johnny is looking for a new six-string electric guitar. Explore the back room and choose between the Deluze Orphean and the Tensor Paradize. The choice does not affect the story.

Step 7: Guitar Jam Session

• Once you’ve made your selection, watch as Johnny jams out with Steve, reliving his former days and encouraging the kid’s passion for music.

Step 8: Paying a Visit to V and Rogue

• After acquiring the guitar, pay a visit to the cemetery to see V and Rogue. Along the way, listen to Johnny and Steve engage in small talk about the city and the impending Corporate war.

Step 9: Saying Goodbye

• Reach the niche you ordered for V and Rogue. Let go of Rogue’s gun and V’s necklace, and Johnny will share a few final words, expressing remorse for the events that unfolded during the last job.

Step 10: Final Moments with Steve

• Leave their mementos behind and speak to Steve one last time outside the cemetery. Share some final advice before boarding the nearby bus.

Step 11: Leaving Night City

• Board the bus and settle in for the long ride. Just as the bus is about to leave, Steve will rush over, informing Johnny that he left his guitar behind.

Step 12: Johnny’s Final Gift

• Johnny decides not to keep the guitar for himself and leaves it with Steve as a parting gift.

Step 13: Final Cutscene

• Watch the final cutscene as Johnny leaves Night City for good.
