The Ride

The Ride is a crucial Main Job in Cyberpunk 2077 where you’ll start making important choices. In this guide, you’ll find step-by-step instructions to complete this mission successfully. Get ready to meet Dex and embark on exciting adventures in Night City.

Step 1: V meets with Dex

• Exit Viktor’s shop and head over to Misty’s. Check in with Jackie and then answer the call from Regina Jones. She will provide information about a side gig involving non-lethal takedowns. Keep this in mind for later.

Step 2: Meet Dex

• Take a right onto the street and then make a left at the intersection. As you walk, you’ll notice a marker on a parked car. This is where you’ll meet Dex. Enter the car to begin the conversation.

Step 3: Discuss the Mission

• Dexter DeShawn will have questions for V, but feel free to ask him questions as well. He will explain why he has chosen you for this mission. Dex will present you with two gig missions to choose from: Maelstrom and Rendezvous with a Client.

Step 4: Maelstrom Mission

• If you choose the Maelstrom mission, ask Dex about the gang and accept the shard he offers. Dex informs you about a stolen Flathead – a unique combat droid bot. Your objective is to retrieve it. The original seller was replaced, and the current gang members are unwilling to give up the droid. Additionally, a corpo agent named Meredith is also searching for it.

Step 5: Rendezvous with a Client Mission

• If you choose the Rendezvous with a Client mission, Dex will send you to meet Evelyn Parker at Lizzie’s bar. She is the one who initiated this job. Make your way to the bar and prepare for the meeting with Evelyn.

Step 6: Mission Discussion with Jackie

After discussing the details with Dex, exit the limo. You’ll level up and receive information about Street Cred. Jackie will call you to discuss the mission further, providing additional insights into the two sides of your next gig.

Step 7: Decide on the Order

• Consider which mission you want to tackle first: Visit Maelstrom first or Gonna start with the client. Your choice will determine whether you start The Pickup or The Information mission.

Step 8: Optional Side Gig

• Before rushing off, you may want to consider completing T-Bug’s side gig called The Gift. It’s located near the drop-off point from Dex’s car.
